Step into the world of Violette with its founder, Emma Egan. In this quiet moment, she shares a glimpse behind the scenes – answering a few thoughtful questions about what inspires her, where she finds beauty, and the gentle rituals that shape the heart of the brand.

What inspires you?

As you might guess, I’m endlessly inspired by flowers… in particular their fleeting beauty, and I’ve become a little obsessed with finding ways to preserve that essence in my work. I find so much joy in creating, and pottering in our garden, which is (slowly but surely) becoming a dreamy blend of Australian natives and cottage blooms that I use in my botanical dyeing practice.

Describe your perfect slow morning...

My perfect slow morning would start with a good coffee… and maybe an almond croissant. I’d curl up with a really long book to get lost in. Peaceful, quiet, uninterrupted… perfect.

The last thing you found beautiful...

Yesterday I noticed the afternoon light catch on a tangle of leaves, casting soft, dancing shadows up the lounge room walls. It only happens when the sun sits low in winter… a small, beautiful reminder of shifting seasons.

A season that feels like home...

Springtime on the mountain is magical. It’s the perfect Goldilocks season… not too hot and not too cold… just right!

A ritual that grounds you...

Tending to my flower garden. In the fresh air, surrounded by blooms, I find I can get into a gentle rhythm that helps me untangle my thoughts and slow down.

Favourite flower…

Violets, always. They’re tiny and cheerful, quietly brightening up the shaded corners of the garden. I love how easy they are to grow, and how something so small can bring so much joy. My favourite dye flower though would have to be cosmos. They create the loveliest flora prints.
